Tumor and tumor-like conditions of the hand and wrist (clinical evaluation of ten years)

Abstract

In this study, between the years of 1982-1992, 163 cases who were operated by the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology Clinic of Akdeniz University because of the tumor and tumor like conditions in their hands and wrist were evaluated retrospectively and the literatures were scrutinized. As a ratio; soft tissue tumors were found as 80.98%, skin tumors 7.98% and bone tumors 11.04%. Age, sex, frequency of incidence and dissociation characters of the tumoral structures were found to be correlated with the previous literatures.
