Arthroscopic knee surgery in Turkey

Abstract

Arthroscopic surgery is one of the routine procedures in orthopaedic surgery departments in our country. Meniscal excision, meniscal repair and anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction are among the most common procedures of arthroscopic surgery. However, the frequency and the preferred techniques of these are not well known. In an attempt to evaluate these points a questionnaire to 46 orthopaedics and traumatology centers were sent and 26 of them accepted to participate to this study. In these centers 16175 surgical arthroscopic procedures were performed. Among the 2278 anterior cruciate ligament reconstructions, 42.4 % of them were performed by single incision artroscopic surgical technique and 37.7 % were performed by mini arthrotomy. The number of meniscal repairs in these centers were 382 and in most of these repairs inside-out technique was preferred. We believe that this study contributed in evaluation of the techniques that were used in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and meniscal repair in our country.

Türkiye'de artroskopik diz cerrahisi

Öz

Ülkemizce artroskopik cerrahi işlemler yaygın olarak yapılmakla, bu işlemler içerisinde de menisküs eksizyonu, menisküs tamiri ve ön çapraz bağ (ÖÇB) tanının ilk sıraları almaktadır. Buna karşın ülkemizde bu gi-rişimlerin ne yaygınlıkta yapıldığı ve hangi tekniklerin kullanıldığı tam olarak bilinmemektedir. Bu noktalardan yola çıkarak ülkemizde tercih edilen artroskopik cerrahi teknikler hakkında fikir sahibi olabilmek amacı ile 46 merkeze bir anket formu gönderilmiş ve ankete cevap gönderen 26 merkezin sonuçları değerlendirilmiş-tir. Bu 26 merkezde uygulanan diz artroskopisi sayısı 16175'dir. Bu merkezlerde 2278 ÖÇB rekonstrüksüyonu uygulanmış ve bu olguların % 42.4'ünde tek insizyon artroskopik cerrahi, % 37.7'sinde mini artrotomi teknikten kullanılmıştır. Bu merkezlerde artroskopik menisküs tamiri uygulanan olgu sayısı 382'dir. Bu tamirle-rin büyük kısmında inside-out tekniği tercih edilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın ülkemizdeki ÖÇB tamiri ve menisküs lezyonlarına yaklaşım konusunda fikir vermesi açısından faydalı olduğu düşüncesindeyiz.
