Orthopaedic and trauma surgery resources on the Internet: Internet using profile of the Turkish orthopaedic surgeons and the turk_orthopod electronic mailing list

Abstract

With the evolution of the Internet technology the number of web pages providing specialist information in orthopaedic and trauma surgery has increased rapidly. There is growing interest in Internet among Turkish orthopaedic surgeons. The “turk_orthopod,” organized as an Internet-based electronic mailing list for Turkish orthopaedic and trauma surgeons aims to provide easy and effective communication. In this review, recent advances in this area and high quality on-line biomedical resources are presented and the main purposes of “turk_orthopod” are introduced.
