Investigating the Relationship Between Perceived Stress Levels and Life Satisfaction in Psychotherapists

Öz

The purpose of this research is to examine the association involving psychotherapists' perceived stress degrees and life satisfaction. The research was conducted with a sample of 51 psychotherapists665437437654734654739397399, 33 female and 18 male, aged between 27 and 50. Data were collected through the “Socio-Demographic Information Form,” “Adult Life Satisfaction Scale,” and “Perceived Stress Scale.” The results show that psychotherapists have high levels of life satisfaction and moderate levels of perceived stress. When the comparative analysis findings were examined, it was determined that married psychotherapists had significantly lower stress compared to single ones. It was found that the perceived stress level of psychotherapists with middle- to high-income levels was significantly lower than those with low- to middle-income levels. The study found no significant difference in life satisfaction and perceived stress levels based on public and private employment status. It has been revealed that there is a negative, moderate and significant correlational relationship between stress level and life satisfaction. Regression analysis result shows that stress significantly predicts life satisfaction. This research aims to contribute to the understanding of the variables that affect the psychological well-being of professionals working in the field of mental health and to provide a basis for future studies in this field.
