Rwanda's Approach to International Criminal Law Through Juridical Regime of The Rwanda's High Court Chambers for International Crimes: Lessons Thereof
Öz
Unarguably, Rwanda has been an object of discussion on issues bordering on International Criminal Law. However, the majority of these discussions, approximately 90% relate to issues concerning the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR), while the remaining 10%, represent the Gacaca Courts (GC) procedures. This paper revealed that GC represents an informal adjudicatory system of justice. Advancing on this argument, Rwanda has not ratified the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC). The paper relied on doctrinal methods in its analysis. In the efforts to sustain strict adherence to the enforcement of global justice standards, upholding the rights of human beings, along with the law of Nations, Rwanda created Chambers for adjudications of global wrongs incorporated into the High Court Systems. Ultimately, the primary aim of the paper is to examine how municipal and global justice systems can collaborate to enhance greater accountability and promote justice delivery.
