SEÇİLMİŞ E7 ÜLKELERİNDE HİDROELEKTRİK ENERJİ TÜKETİMİ İLE EKONOMİK BÜYÜME ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİ

Öz

Bu çalışmada seçilmiş E7 ülkelerinde 1965-2019 döneminde hidroelektrik enerji tüketimi ile ekonomik büyüme arasındaki nedensellik ilişkisi araştırılmıştır. Çalışmada Konya panel bootstrap nedensellik yönteminin yanı sıra yeni geliştirilen zamanla değişen bootstrap panel nedensellik testi kullanılmıştır. Bootstrap panel nedensellik yöntemine göre iki seri arasında herhangi bir nedensellik ilişkisine rastlanmamıştır. Zamanla değişen bootstrap panel nedensellik yöntemine göre ise belli başlı yıllarda değişkenler arasında nedensellik ilişkisi olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Bu sonuçlara bakıldığında Brezilya’da 1990-1991; Meksika’da 1986-1987, 1989, 1991 ve 1993; Endonezya’da 2011 ve 2013 dönemlerinde çift yönlü bir nedensellik ilişkisi olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Yani bu yıllarda hidroelektrik enerjisi tüketimindeki artış ekonomik büyümeyi etkilerken, ekonomik büyümede yaşanan gelişmeler de hidroelektrik enerjisi tüketimini etkilemektedir. Diğer ülkelerde de belirli tarihlerde hidroelektrik tüketiminden ekonomik büyümeye ve ekonomik büyümeden hidroelektrik tüketimine doğru tek yönlü bir nedensellik ilişkisi olduğu gözlemlenmiştir.
