The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of autotelic personality traits on psychological well-being among students of the Faculty of Sports Sciences. The research was conducted using a correlational survey design. The study group consisted of a total of 392 students (178 females and 214 males) studying at the Faculty of Sports Sciences of Süleyman Demirel University during the 2025–2026 academic year. Data were collected using a personal information form, the Autotelic Personality Scale, and the Psychological Well-Being Scale. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation analysis, and simple linear regression analyses were performed using SPSS 25. According to the findings of the study, a positive and moderate significant relationship was found between autotelic personality and psychological well-being (r = .405, p < .01). In addition, autotelic personality was found to be a significant predictor of psychological well-being, explaining approximately 16% of the total variance in psychological well-being (R² = .164, p < .001). These results indicate that students of sports sciences with higher levels of autotelic personality traits also have higher levels of psychological well-being. In conclusion, autotelic personality can be considered an important individual characteristic that supports psychological well-being among students of sports sciences. In this regard, it is recommended to increase educational and practical approaches that promote intrinsic motivation and flow experience in faculties of sports sciences.
