ERGEN BİREYLER İÇİN YAŞAM BECERİLERİ

Öz

Büyüme ve
gelişimin hayati bir aşaması olan ergenlik, çocukluktan yetişkinliğe bir geçiş
dönemidir. Bu dönemde hızlı fizyolojik değişiklikler ve psikososyal olgunlaşma
görülür. Yaşam becerileri Dünya Sağlık Örgütü (WHO) tarafından  “bireylerin
günlük yaşamın talepleri ve zorlukları ile etkin bir şekilde başa çıkmalarını
sağlayan uyarlanabilir ve olumlu davranış yetenekleri” olarak tanımlanmaktadır.
“Uyarlanabilir”, bir kişinin yaklaşımlarında esnek olduğu ve farklı durumlara
uyum sağlayabileceği anlamına gelir. “Olumlu davranış”, bir kişinin
ileriye baktığını ve zor durumlarda bile, çözüm bulma umudu ve fırsatları
bulabileceğini ifade eder. Yaşam becerileri; insanların bilinçli kararlar
almalarına, problem çözmelerine, eleştirel ve yaratıcı düşünmelerine, etkili
iletişim kurmalarına, sağlıklı ilişkiler kurmalarına, başkalarıyla empati
kurmalarına ve hayatlarını sağlıklı ve üretken bir şekilde yönetmelerine
yardımcı olan psikososyal yeterlilikleri ve kişilerarası becerileri içerir. Bu
araştırma ergenlerin yaşam becerileri neden ve nasıl öğrenmeleri gerektiği
üzerine odaklanmıştır. Çalışma ile ergenlik döneminde en önemli yaşam
becerileri olan;  öz farkındalık, öz düzenleme,
empati, affetme, eleştirel düşünme, yaratıcı düşünme, problem çözme,  kişilerarası
ilişki becerileri, stresle başa çıkma, duygu düzenleme ve hedef
koyma-kariyer planlama becerileri irdelenmiş, araştırmacı, eğitimci ve ailelere
çeşitli önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
