Nature-based tourism is a vital component of the global tourism sector, with protected areas experiencing significant growth as key visitor destinations. These areas attract increasing numbers of tourists each year and serve as essential topics in tourism research due to their role in environmental conservation and sustainability. In this context, the number of protected areas in our country has grown considerably since 2010, reflecting a heightened commitment to preserving natural ecosystems. This study evaluates the recreational potential of Paşaca Waterfall and its surroundings, which were designated a nature park in 2020. The area's unspoiled natural environment provides valuable opportunities for visitor recreation while contributing to the promotion of nature-based tourism. To assess the site's tourism potential using a scientific framework, this study applies the method developed by Gülez (1990) for evaluating outdoor and forest recreation potential. The analysis indicates that the area's recreational potential is moderate. The study emphasizes the need for sustainable management strategies to enhance the area's recreational value while ensuring long-term environmental conservation. It highlights the importance of maintaining a balance between tourism development and nature preservation. Additionally, recommendations are provided for stakeholders to implement strategic planning, investment, and policy measures that support the sustainable growth of nature-based tourism in the region.
