After the Armistice of Mudros, Anatolia began to be occupied from place to place by the Allies. The Turkish nation did not bow to these invasions and started a struggle for independence under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Pasha. This period, also known as the period of the National Struggle, was an extraordinary period in which Turkish nation in person participated in the struggle between men and women, young and old, and children. Although Kastamonu was not invaded after the Armistice, she veya it personally participated in this struggle; He fulfilled an important historical task (mission) by sending the weapons and ammunition needed by the Western Front, especially from the İnebolu-Ankara line. The aim of this study is to reveal the contribution of the children and youth of Kastamonu to the National Struggle. In this respect, the study is considered important in terms of Kastamonu city history.

Mondros Mütarekesi’nden sonra Anadolu, Müttefikler tarafından yer yer işgale uğramaya başlamıştır. Türk milleti bu işgallere boyun eğmemiş ve Mustafa Kemal Paşa’nın önderliğinde istiklâl mücadelesine girişmiştir. Millî Mücadele dönemi olarak da bilinen bu dönem, Türk milletinin kadın-erkek, genç-ihtiyar, çoluk-çocuk mücadeleye bizzat iştirak ettiği fevkalâde bir dönem olmuştur. Kastamonu Mütareke sonrasında herhangi bir işgale uğramamasına rağmen, bu mücadeleye bizzat katılmış; özellikle İnebolu-Ankara hattından Batı Cephesi’nin ihtiyaç duyduğu silah ve cephaneyi sevk ederek, önemli bir tarihî görevi yerine getirmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı Kastamonulu çocuklarve gençlerin Millî Mücadele’ye olan katkısını ortaya koymaktır. Bu bakımdan çalışma, Kastamonu kent tarihî açısından önemli görülmektedir
