Öz
Scientific libraries have been functioning as exchange centres of scientific knowledge since ancient times. The geographical location of Azerbaijan, being on the Silk Road, being at the centre of the flow of information from east to west and from west to east is also mentioned in historical sources. This article is devoted to the study of the process of international co-operation and information exchange of libraries in Azerbaijan. The possibilities and forms of international exchange of scientific libraries are analysed in historical development. The problems of international cooperation are examined especially in the Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.

Elmi kitabxanalar çox qədim zamanlardan elmi informasiyanın mübadilə mərkəzi funksiyasını yerinə yetirib. Azərbaycanın cografi mövqeyi, ipək yolu üzərində olması, şərqdən qərbə və qərbdən şərqə informasiya axınının mərkəzində olması tarixi mənbələrdə də qeyd olunur. Hazırki məqalə azərbaycanda kitabxanaların beynəlxalq əməkdaşlıq və informasiyanın mübadiləsi prosesini öyrənməyə həsr edilib. Elmi kitabxanaların beynəlxalq mübadilə imkanları, mübadilənin formaları tarixi inkişafda öyrənilir. Xüsusilə də AMEA-nın Mərkəzi Elmi Kitabxanasında beynəlxalq əməkdaşlıq problemləri tədqiq olunur.
