Contemporary Trends in the Publication of Scientific Literature: The Experiences of the United States and Canada

Abstract

This article analyzes contemporary trends in the publication of scientific literature, with a particular focus on the experiences of the United States and Canada. The study aims to examine the changes occurring within the international scientific publishing system, the implementation of open access models, the application of digital technologies, and issues of research ethics. The article provides an analysis of the scientific publishing practices established in the U.S. and Canada and offers practical recommendations that could be adapted to Azerbaijan’s national scientific publishing system. The study demonstrates that digitalization, international indexing, and the adoption of open access models not only enhance scientific productivity but also expand opportunities for participation in global scientific communication and knowledge exchange. Furthermore, strategic directions for applying U.S. and Canadian experiences within the Azerbaijani context are identified.
