The Ottoman-Safavid War 1578-1590 And The Crimean Khanate

Abstract

After a brief presentation of the prerequisites causing the Ottoman-Safavid war of 1579-1590, the article discusses events related to the participation of the Crimean Tatars in this war and its aftermath. It is noted that the participation of the Crimean Tatars in this war was an effective factor that determined not only the outcome of some battles, but also influenced the outcome of the entire war.The troops of the Crimean Khanate, which acting as an ally of the Sublime Porte, carried out 4 invasions to Azerbaijan during this war. Among the sources reporting these campaigns the descriptions by the Ottoman chronicler Ibrahim Rahimizade who was an eyewitness to the events deserves special attention. Based on this information, the tragic fate of the captive Tatar prince Adil Giray, who fell victim to palace intrigues in the Safavid court, is considered.

Османо-сефевидская война 1578-1590-х гг. и Крымское ханство

Öz

В статье после краткого изложения предпосылок, вызвавших османо-сефевидскую войну 1579-1590-х гг., рассматриваются события, связанные с участием крымских татар в этой войне и их последствия. Отмечается, что участие крымских татар в этой войне, было действенным фактором, определившим не только исход отдельных сражений, но и повлиявшим на исход всей войны. Войска Крымского ханства, выступавшего союзником Высокой Порты, в ходе этой войны совершили 4 похода в Азербайджан. Среди источников, сообщающих об этих походах, особое внимание заслуживают сведения османского хроникера Ибрахима Рахимизаде как очевидца описываемых событий. На основе этих сведений повествуется о трагической судьбе пленного татарского принца Адиль Гирея, павшего жертвой дворцовых интриг в Сефевидском дворе.
