EuroVelo Bisiklet Yolu Ağına Türkiye'nin Entegrasyonu Bağlamında İstanbul'un Durumu ve Üsküdar'da Bisiklet Yollarının Değerlendirilmesi

Öz

Son yıllarda Türkiye’de boş zaman değerlendirme biçimi olarak bisiklet kullanımında ve kentlerin bisiklet yolu altyapısının geliştirilmesi çalışmalarında belirgin bir artış gözlenmektedir. Buna paralel olarak, sürdürülebilir ulaşım, turizm ve çevre dostu kentler politikaları çerçevesinde EuroVelo (Avrupa Bisiklet Yolu Ağı) ile entegrasyon çabaları da ivme kazanmıştır. Rekreasyonel ve ulaşım odaklı kullanımlara olanak tanıyan bisiklet yolu altyapısıyla İstanbul, bisiklet turizmi açısından dikkate değer bir potansiyel barındırmaktadır. Kentin EuroVelo ağına dâhil edilmesi ve mevcut bisiklet yollarının uluslararası standartlara uygun biçimde düzenlenmesi, hem bisiklet turizminin gelişimi hem de kentlilerin yaşam kalitesinin yükseltilmesinde stratejik bir önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmada Türkiye’de gerçekleştirilen EuroVelo ağına dâhil olma çalışmalarının son durumu ele alınmış, son yıllarda bisiklet yolları ile ilgili yayımlanan yönetmelikler ve mevcut bisiklet yolları bağlamında İstanbul’un durum değerlendirilmesi yapılmıştır. Avrupa yakasında Yenikapı’ya kadar gelen bisiklet yolu planlamasının buradan toplu taşıma araçlarına entegre edilerek Anadolu yakasında devam etmesine yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur. Çalışma kapsamında ayrıca Üsküdar’ın mevcut bisiklet yollarının standartlara uygunluğu, eğim ve yol güvenliği verileri değerlendirilerek önerilerde bulunulmuştur. Sonuç olarak İstanbul Anadolu yakasının bisiklet kullanımı ve bisiklet turizmi bağlamında önemli bir potansiyele sahip olduğu vurgulanmış çeşitli rota önerilerinde bulunulmuştur.

The Situation of Istanbul in the Context of Turkey’s Integration into the EuroVelo Cycle Route Network and Evaluation of the Cycle Routes in Üsküdar

Öz

There has been a significant increase in cycling as a form of leisure in Türkiye, as well as efforts to develop cycle path infrastructure. In parallel with this trend, efforts to integrate with EuroVelo (European Cycle Path Network) within the framework of sustainable transport, tourism, and environmentally friendly cities policies have also gained momentum. Istanbul offers significant potential for cycle tourism. Integrating the city into the EuroVelo network and renovating existing cycle paths to international standards is strategically important for both the development of cycle tourism and improving the quality of life of residents. In this study, the latest status of the studies carried out in Türkiye on the inclusion of the EuroVelo network was discussed and the situation of Istanbul was evaluated. Suggestions were made to integrate the bicycle paths. In addition, the compliance of the existing cycle paths in Üsküdar were evaluated and suggestions were made. As a result, it was emphasized that the Anatolian side of Istanbul has an important potential for bicycle use and bicycle tourism, and various route suggestions were made.
