Erosion is the scavenging of the fertile soil surface on the earth depending on some physical geography variables and their effects. The scavenging situation on the soil surface develops due to natural causes as well as due to anthropogenic effects. In this study, the erosion risk situation of Çankırı central district was analyzed on the basis of remote sensing and geographic information systems by weighted overlay method. The findings obtained as a result of the analysis were explained and interpreted with the help of tables and maps. According to the findings, most of the soils in Çankırı Central District are in the medium (70.1%) and high (22.9%) erosion class. In particular, the semi-arid climate of the research area has led to the dominance of surfaces that develop on slopes, bare or seasonally changing cover, devoid of vegetation, which is a protective cover from erosion, and accordingly, the soils in these areas carry high risks in terms of erosion risk. In order to minimize the erosion risk in the research area, it is necessary to make real and sustainable plans suitable for the physical geography of the area..
