Sürdürülebilirlik Okuryazarlığı

Öz

Bu makale, sürdürülebilirlik okuryazarlığı perspektifinden hareketle, Sürdürülebilir Kalkınma Hedefleri’nin (SKH'ler) sürdürülebilirlik bilincinin yaygınlaştırılmasındaki rolünü ele almaktadır. SKH'ler, küresel sürdürülebilirlik çabalarının yönlendirici ilkeleri haline gelmiş olsa da, bireylerin bu hedefleri anlaması ve benimsemesi için sürdürülebilirlik okuryazarlığının geliştirilmesi kritik öneme sahiptir. Sürdürülebilirlik okuryazarlığı, bireylerin çevresel, sosyal ve ekonomik sürdürülebilirlik konularında bilinçlenmesini sağlarken, aynı zamanda SKH’lerin küresel politikalar ve kalkınma süreçleri içindeki yerini kavramalarına da yardımcı olmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda, makale SKH’lerin gelişim süreçlerini ve etkilerini inceleyen akademik çalışmaları ve BM tarafından yayınlanan resmi belgeleri temel alarak bir literatür taraması gerçekleştirmiştir. Çalışma, sürdürülebilirlik okuryazarlığının SKH’lerin etkin uygulanması ve toplumda benimsenmesi açısından taşıdığı önemi vurgulamakta ve bu iki kavramın nasıl daha güçlü bir şekilde ilişkilendirilebileceğine dair yeni ve yaratıcı bir bakış açısı sunmaktadır.

Sustainability Literacy

Öz

This article examines the role of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in promoting sustainability awareness from the perspective of sustainability literacy. While the SDGs have become guiding principles for global sustainability efforts, developing sustainability literacy is crucial for individuals to understand and adopt these goals. Sustainability literacy not only enables individuals to become aware of environmental, social, and economic sustainability issues but also helps them comprehend the place of the SDGs within global policies and development processes. Accordingly, this article conducts a literature review based on academic studies analyzing the development and impact of the SDGs, as well as official documents published by the United Nations. The study emphasizes the significance of sustainability literacy in the effective implementation and societal adoption of the SDGs and offers a new and creative perspective on how these two concepts can be more strongly interconnected.
