The world is experiencing a rapid digitalization process. However, since not every country has the same level of digitalization, they cannot adequately benefit from the opportunities offered by digitalization. In this study, the effect of natural resource abundance, one of the factors that may affect digitalization, was investigated. In the study, E7 countries were analyzed using the CS-ARDL method. The analysis covered the period of 1993-2021, and the results showed that the abundance of natural resources negatively affects digitalization both in the long term and short term. The study also determined that economic growth and inflation positively affect digitalization in the long term. In this case, it can be said that the natural resource curse hypothesis is valid. This result indicates that there may be a contraction in the digital sector if authorities do not support the development of the digital sector in parallel with the increase in natural resource revenues. Emirmahmutoğlu & Köse (2011) causality test was also used in the study and a one-way causality relationship was determined from natural resource abundance to digitalization.
