Coping with depression, anxiety and stress is one of the most frequently studied topics in psychological counseling and psychotherapy. There are many approaches, principles and techniques for coping with those psychological problems. In this study, it was aimed to test the effectiveness of the Solution-Focused Guided Imagery technique in reducing the symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress levels of a group of university students. The research was carried out with experimental design and included 100 participants. Amongst them, 50 were in the experiment and the other half was in the control group. Within the scope of the study, all students were pretested, and assigned to the experimental and control groups based on their scores. In the research, Solution-Focused Guided Imagery technique was applied to the experimental group in four phases: a preparation, a follow-up and two sessions (first session twenty stages, second session twenty-two stages). After the experimental intervention, the post-test was applied to both groups, and four weeks later, a follow-up test was applied, as well. Findings have shown that the Solution-Focused Guided Imagery technique applied to the experimental group is effective and persistent in reducing depression, anxiety and stress symptoms of university students.
