The Validity and Reliability of Turkish Version of The Entrapment Scale

The aim of the present study was to examine the validity and reliability of the Turkish form of
Entrapment Scale(Gilbert & Allan, 1998). The sample of study consists of 386 university students.
Results of confirmatory factor analysis demonstrated that the sixteen items loaded on two factors and
the two-­‐‑dimensional model was well fit (x2= 175.34, df= 100, RMSEA= .046, NFI= .98, IFI= .99, CFI= .99,
RFI= .97, GFI= .94, SRMR= .035). Factor loadings ranged from .41 to .81 and the corrected item-­‐‑total
correlations of ES ranged from .37 to .75. Internal consistency reliability coefficients were .84 for external entrapment and .87 for internal entrapment subscales. These results demonstrate that this
scale is a valid and reliable instrument.

Sıkışmış Hissetme Ölçeğinin Türkçe Formunun Geçerlik ve Güvenirlik Çalışması

Öz

Bu araştırmanın amacı Sıkışmış Hissetme Ölçeği’nin (Gilbert & Allan, 1998) Türkçe formunun geçerlik
ve güvenirliğini incelemektir. Araştırmanın örneklemi 386 üniversite öğrencisinden oluşmuştur.
Doğrulayıcı faktör analizinde 16 maddeden ve iki boyuttan (dışsal faktörler, içsel faktörler) oluşan
modelin iyi uyum verdiği görülmüştür (x2= 175.34, sd= 100, RMSEA= .046, NFI= .98, IFI= .99, CFI= .99,
RFI= .97, GFI= .94, SRMR= .035). Ölçeğin faktör yükleri .41 ile .81, madde toplam korelasyon
katsayıları ise .37 ile .75 arasında sıralanmaktadır. Cronbach Alfa iç tutarlılık güvenirlik katsayıları
dışsal faktörlerden kaynaklanan sıkışmışlık hissi alt boyutu için .84 içsel faktörlerden kaynaklanan
sıkışmışlık hissi alt boyutu için .87 olarak bulunmuştur. Sonuç olarak, ölçeğin Türkçe formunun
geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğu söylenebilir.
