Öz

Nemaguard ve Uzunoğlu ve Cebelgüney olmak üzere iki yerel şeftali fidanının kök-ur nematodlarına dayanıklılığını belirlemek için fidanlık testleri, 1967 sonbaharında, toprağın kök-ur nematodlarıyla yoğun şekilde enfekte olduğu Bursa İl Fidanlığında gerçekleştirildi. Temmuz 1968'de fidelerin büyümesi ölçüldü ve her tipten beş fide köklerdeki nematod enfeksiyonunu karşılaştırmak için çıkarıldı. Geriye kalan fideler daha sonra tomurcuk tutma ve kalem çeşidinin büyümesini incelemek için tomurcuklandı. Aralık 1969'da tüm bitkilerin gövde çapı ve bitkilerin boyu ölçüldü; daha sonra tüm bitkiler kök-ur nematod enfeksiyonunu incelemek için çıkarıldı. Nematod enfeksiyonunun derecesi açısından önemli bir fark yoktu; ancak Nemaguard'ın daha iyi ve daha uzun kökleri, yüksek tutma yüzdesi ve kalem çeşidinin Uzunoğlu ve Cebelgüney'in yerel fidanlarından daha iyi büyümesi vardı. Nemaguard'ın şeftali için en ümit verici anaç olduğu bulundu.

Nursery Testing of Peach Seedling Rootstocks for Resistance to Nematodes

Öz

Nursery testing of peach seedling rootstocks including Nemaguard and two local seedlings Uzunoglu and Cebelgüney, to determine the resistance to root-knot nematodes was performed in Autumn 1967, in Bursa Provincial Nursery where soil was heavily infected with root-knot nematodes. In July 1968, the growth of the seedlings has been measured and five seedlings from each type have been dug out to compare nematode Infection on roots. The remaining seedlings then were budded to study the bud take and growth of scion variety. In December 1969 all the plants were measured in diameter of trunk and the height of plants; then all the plants were dug out to examine root-knot nematode infection. There was no significant difference on the degree of nematode infection; but Nemaguard had better and longer roots; high percentage of take and better growth of scion variety than local seedlings of Uzunoglu and Cebelgüney. Nemaguard has been found as a most promising rootstock for peaches.
