Elma Standart Çöğür Anacı Seçimi-2

Öz

Bazı kültür çeşitleriyle, yabani türlerin standart elma çöğür anacı olarak kullanılabilmeleri amacı ile başlatılan bu projenin yabani türlerle ilgili Marmara Bölgesi bölümü tamamlanmıştır. Bu bölümde Doğu Marmara Bölgesinde yaygın yabani elma ağaçlarının Malus sylvestris Mill. (syn. Malus Communis subsp. sylvestris Linn.) türüne ait olduğu tespit edilmiş ve çöğür anacı olabilme özellikleri incelenmiştir. Tohumların çimlenme oranları yüzde olarak gösterilmiş, çöğür ve sürgünlerde çap ve boy ölçümleri yapılmış ve aşı tutma oranları hesaplanmıştır. Çap ve boy üniformiteleri varyasyon katsayısı (CV) ile ifade edilmiştir. Kök gelişimi bir panelle gözlem yolu ile incelenmiştir. Veriler "tartılı derecelendirme" yöntemi ile değerlendirilmiş YE-1605, YE-1603 ve YE-1602 no.lu tipler kontrol olarak alınan Starking Delicious’un serbest tozlanması ile ilk sıraları almışlardır.

Seedling Rootstock Selection for Apples-2

Abstract

The second step in apple seedling rootstock selection of some apple cultivars and wild species was terminated in 1989. The study for the second step was carried out to determine the suitability of wild apple trees, widely grown in the Eastern Marmara Region, as seedling rootstocks for apple cultivars. The most widespread species determined was Malus sylvestris Mill. "Syn. Malus communis subsp. sylvestris Linn.). The seeds of the trees were first stratified in moistened perlite medium at 4℃ for 80 days. The seeds were later sown in pots filled with soil mixture (1/3 soil, 1/3 sand, 1/3 manure) and the pots were placed in a greenhouse. The seedlings were allowed to grow until they had 5-6 leaves, then they were transplanted to budding plots in the field. The germination percentage of seeds sown in the mixture changed between 92.2-99.5%. The measurements were 6.6-8.3 mm for seedling diameters, 63.8-82.0 cm for seedling heights, 10.6-15.6 mm for shoot diameters and 112.2-151.5 cm for shoot heights. The percentage of bud-take was found to be in between 82.0-98%. Root growth of wild apple types was also examined. General appearance of roots was evaluated by a jury and the points (10 becoming ten highest) given by the Jury were in between 6.5-9.2. The overall data were evaluated for potential rootstock use by using modified "Weighted Rankit" method based on the parameters considered for evaluation. The evaluations showed that the types of Malus sylvestris Mill. numbered as YE-1605, YE-1603 and YE-1602 appeared to be potential seedling root-stock along with Starking Delicious cv. used as the control.
