Tohum Kalitesindeki Farklılıkların Hıyar Tohumlarının Çimlenme, Çıkış ve Sonrası Fide Gelişimine Etkisi

Öz

Tohum kalitesinde yaşlandırma ya da KNO₃ uygulaması ile oluşturulan farklılıkların hıyar tohumlarının çimlenme, çıkış ve fide gelişmesi üzerine etkileri araştırılmıştır. Kalitedeki farklılıklar %3’lük KNO₃ uygulaması (5 gün, 24℃), KNO₃ uygulaması sonrası yaşlandırma (50℃, 1 gün, %9-10 nem) ve sadece yaşlandırmayla (50℃, 1 gün, %9-10 nem) meydana getirilmiştir. Kontrol tohumları ise hiçbir uygulama yapılmayanlardır. KNO₃ uygulaması toplam (kökçüğün 2 mm olduğu) ve normal çimlenme (gelişmiş kök ve sürgüne sahip) oranını (%), kök uzunluğunu (cm), çıkış oranını (%) ve çıkış hızını (gün) arttırmıştır. KNO₃ uygulaması sonrası yaşlandırılan tohumlar, uygulama yapılmadan yaşlandırılan ve kontrol tohumlarına göre daha iyi sonuçlar vermiştir. Hıyar tohumlarında KNO₃ uygulaması ve yaşlandırma ile oluşturulan kalite farklılıklarının en önemli etkisi çimlenme oranı ve çıkış hızına olmuştur. Uygulamaların, fide gelişimi üzerine etkileri arasında farklılık gözlenmemiştir.

The Effects of Seed Quality on Germination, Emergence and Subsequent Seedling Development in Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.)

Öz

The effects of differences in seed quality resulting from priming or deterioration on germination, emergence and seedling growth were investigated in cucumber (Cucumis sativus L. Çengelköy) seeds. Seed quality differences were created through priming, priming and ageing, or ageing (50℃, 1 d, %9-10). Priming (KNO₃, %3, 5 d, 24℃) increased total, normal germination (%), root length (cm) emergence (%) and rapidity of emergence (day). Even, primed and aged seeds had showed better performance than aged and control seeds. Priming not only improved germination and emergence but also repaired ageing. The most important effect of seed quality was on the initial rate of germination and emergence. Subsequent seedling growth rate following emergence was not different among treated, treated and aged, only aged and untreated seeds. The earlier seeds emerged; the bigger seedlings formed.
