Bazı Ceviz (Juglans regia L.) Çeşitlerinde Dinlenmenin Karşılanması İçin Gerekli Soğuklama ve Sıcaklık Toplamı İhtiyaçlarının Belirlenmesi

Öz

Bu araştırma, dünyada ve Türkiye’de yetiştirilen bazı yerli (Maraş 18, Şebin, Şen 1) ve yabancı (Chandler, Fernor, Franquette) ceviz çeşitlerinde (Juglans regia L.) dinlenmenin karşılanması için gerekli soğuklama ve sıcaklık toplamı (BDS℃) ihtiyacını belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmada, yaprak dökümünü takiben ağaçlardan alınan bir yaşlı çelikler, fungisit uygulamasından sonra köpük kutulara yerleştirilerek 4±1℃’de, 400–1500s boyunca yapay soğuklamaya maruz bırakılmıştır. Çelikler 400s soğuklamadan sonra her 100s soğuklamanın ardından iklim odasına alınarak içerisinde %5 sakkaroz, %0.3 alüminyum sülfat ve 50 ml saf su bulunan kavanozlara yerleştirilmiş ve tomurcuk patlaması gözlenmiştir. Soğuklama ve sıcaklık toplamı ihtiyacının belirlenmesinde %50 oranında tomurcuk patlamasının meydana gelmesi esas alınmıştır. Tomurcuk patlaması, tomurcukların renginin yeşile dönmesi esasına dayandırılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, soğuklama ihtiyacı Şebin çeşidinde en düşük (700s), Şen 1, Chandler ve Fernor çeşitlerinde orta–yüksek (1000s), Maraş 18 ve Franquette çeşitlerinde ise yüksek (1100s) bulunmuştur. Çalışmada çeşitler sıcaklık toplamı ihtiyaçlarına göre düşük (Şebin 10804 BDS℃), orta (Maraş 18, 11760 BDS℃, Chandler, 11840 BDS℃, Şen 1, 12580 BDS℃, Franquette 12876 BDS℃) ve yüksek (Fernor, 16379 BDS℃) olarak 3 grupta toplanmıştır.

Determination of Chilling and Heat Requirements for Breaking Dormancy in Some Walnut (Juglans regia L.) Cultivars

This research was carried out to determine the chilling and heat (GDH℃) requirement for breaking dormancy in some walnut (Juglans regia L.) cultivars in walnut having important production and economic values in nuts in Turkey and the world. After leaf fall one–year old twigs were taken from trees, disinfected with fungicide and twigs were exposed to artificial chilling at 4±1℃ from 400–1500h. After the twigs were exposed to 400h chilling, in every 100h intervals, twigs were taken and placed in acclimatization room and put into jars with 5% sucrose, 0.3% aluminum sulfate and 50 mm distilled water and bud break observed. Evaluation of chilling and heat requirement based on 50% buds break occurrence. Bud break evaluation based on buds becomes green tip stage. According to the results, chilling requirement was lowest in Şebin cultivar (700h), intermediate–high in Şen 1, Chandler and Fernor cultivars (1000h) and highest in Maraş 18 and Franquette cultivars (1100h). In the study, the cultivars were classified into three groups based on their heat requirements; low requirement (Şebin, 10804 GDH℃), intermediate requirement (Maraş 18, 11760 GDH℃, Chandler, 11840 GDH℃, Şen 1, 12580 GDH℃) and high requirement (Fernor, 16379 GDH℃).
