Sardunya Türlerinin (Pelargonium spp.) Fusarium oxysporum Fungal Hastalığına Karşı Dayanımını Belirleme

Öz

Bu çalışma farklı sardunya türlerine ait genotiplerin Fusarium oxysporum fungal hastalığına karşı dayanımlarını belirlemek amacıyla düzenlenmiştir. Sardunya yaklaşık üç yüz türü bulunan, çok yıllık, çalı ve sukulent formlarıyla geniş yelpazede çeşitliliğe sahip, evlerin yanı sıra park ve bahçelerde de yaygınca tercih edilen bir süs bitkisidir. Çiçek ve yapraklarıyla yüksek estetik görünümlü sardunyalara olan ilgi ve talep, tüm dünyada olduğu gibi Türkiye’de de her geçen yıl artmaktadır. Dünyada her yıl onlarca milyon adet sardunya üretimi ve ticareti yapılmaktadır. Ancak, sardunyada etkili olan stres faktörlerinin başında gelen Fusarium oxysporum fungal hastalığı üretimde önemli bir kayba sebep olur. Fusarium oxysporum patojeninin meydana getirdiği zarar bitkilerde kök ve sürgünlerde çürümenin yanı sıra yapraklarda sararma ve solgunluk şeklinde ortaya çıkar. Bu hastalık testleme çalışmasında, hazırlanan inokülasyonla farklı sardunya genotiplerine üç tekerrürlü olarak hastalık bulaştırılmıştır. Bitkilerin büyüme ve gelişmelerinde kontrol bitkilerine göre gerilemeler gözlenmiştir. Hastalıkla bulaşık sardunya genotipleri, hastalık dayanımı bakımından köklerde oluşan lezyon durumlarına göre farklılık göstermiştir.

Determination of Resistance of Geranium Species (Pelargonium spp.) Against to Fusarium oxysporum Fungal Disease

Öz

This study was formed to determine the resistance of genotypes of different pelargonium species against to Fusarium oxysporum fungal disease. Pelargonium is an ornamental plant with approximately three hundred species, a wide range of diversity with perennial, shrub and succulent forms, and widely preferred in homes as well as parks and gardens. The interest and demand for pelargoniums with high aesthetic appearance with their flowers and leaves increase each year in Turkey as well as all over the world. Tens of millions of pelargoniums are produced and traded each year in the world. However, Fusarium oxysporum fungal disease, which is the leading stress factor in pelargoniums, causes significant loss in production. The damage caused by the Fusarium oxysporum pathogen occurs in the form of rotting in the roots and shoots of plants, as well as yellowing and wilting in the leaves. In this disease testing study, different geranium genotypes were infected with the disease with the prepared inoculation in three replications. Regressions were observed in the growth and development of the plants compared to the control plants. Disease-infected pelargonium genotypes showed differences in disease resistance according to the lesion status on the roots.
