ABSTRACT
Objective: This study examines the mediating role of psychological resilience in the relationship between emotional appetite and emotional eating among high school students. Materials and Methods: This correlational study was conducted in two Anatolian high schools located in the city center of Balıkesir, with the participation of 683 high school students. Data were collected using the Emotional Eating Scale, the Emotional Appetite Questionnaire, the Child and Youth Resilience Measure, and a sociodemographic information form. Data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0, through which Pearson correlation analysis, hierarchical regression analysis, and Hayes' Process macro were applied. Results: Psychological resilience was found to have a partial mediating role in the relationship between emotional appetite and emotional eating. Additionally, female students had higher emotional eating scores compared to male students; however, no significant gender differences were observed in emotional appetite or psychological resilience. Conclusion: It was found that the effect of emotional appetite on emotional eating among high school students was weakened by psychological resilience. Therefore, psychological resilience may be considered a protective factor in preventing emotional eating behavior.

ÖZ
Amaç: Bu araştırma, lise öğrencilerinde duygusal yeme ile duygusal iştah arasındaki ilişkide psikolojik sağlamlığın aracı rolünü incelemektedir. Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu ilişkisel araştırma, Balıkesir il merkezindeki iki Anadolu Lisesinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırmaya 683 lise öğrencisi katılmıştır. Veriler; Duygusal Yeme Ölçeği, Duygusal İştah Anketi ve Çocuk ve Genç Psikolojik Sağlamlık Ölçeği, sosyodemografik bilgi formu ile toplanmıştır. Veriler SPSS 26.0 programıyla analiz edilmiş; Pearson korelasyon analizi, hiyerarşik regresyon analizi ve Hayes’in Process makrosu uygulanmıştır.
