Öz

Kooperatifler orman köyleri gibi kırsal yerleşimlerde sosyal ve ekonomik hayatta pek görünür olmayan kadınların istihdam edilmesinde ve söz sahibi olmalarında önemli bir yere sahiptir. Demokratik ve katılım-cı yapılarından dolayı kooperatifler, Sürdürülebilir Kalkınma Amaçlarına ulaşmada da etkin bir araç olarak görülmektedir. Özellikle kadın kooperatiflerinin ülke kalkınmasındaki önemine kalkınma planlarında da değinilmekte ve bu çerçevede kooperatifçiliğin desteklenmesine gayret gösterilmektedir. Kırsal alanlarda faaliyet gösteren kooperatiflerin cinsiyet eşitsizliğiyle ilgili kronikleşen sorunları, 2000’li yılların başında kırsaldaki kadınların da kendi aralarında örgütlenip kadın kooperatiflerini kurmalarına vesile olmuştur. Günümüzde kırsalda katma değer yaratan, toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği ve eşitsizliğin azaltılması gibi sürdürü-lebilir kalkınma amaçlarına ulaşmada önemli adımlar atan kadın kooperatiflerinin sayısı her geçen gün artmaktadır. Bu gelişmelere karşın kırsaldaki kadın kooperatiflerinin ortak yapılarını inceleyen araştırma sayısı çok azdır. Bu araştırmanın amacı, kadın kooperatifi örgütlenmesinde, üretimde, bölgesel odun dışı orman ürünlerinden katma değer yaratmada başarılı olarak görülen, dolayısıyla kırsal kalkınmaya da bü-yük katkıları olan, Devrek Güneşi Kooperatifi (Devrek/Zonguldak) ortaklarının kooperatifçiliğe bakış açılarının ve kooperatiflerinden olan beklentilerinin belirlenmesidir. Bunları tespit edebilmek için ortaklara yönelik 42 sorudan oluşan bir anket formu oluşturulmuştur. Bu anketler 30 kooperatif ortağına yüz yüze görüşme yöntemiyle uygulanmıştır. Anket sorularına verilen cevapların Microsoft Excel programıyla frekans ve yüzde dağılımları belirlenerek nitel veri analizi ile yorumlanmıştır. Devrek Güneşi Kooperatifi ortakları kooperatifçiliğinin anlamını bilmekte ve bu doğrultuda da çalışmakta, üretmektedirler. Ortakların arasında çok az bir fikir ayrılığı olmasına rağmen birlikte çalışma kültürünü benimsemişlerdir. Bunun nedeni kooperatifte şeffaf, hesap verilebilir ve samimi bir yönetim anlayışının işlemesidir. Orman köyle-rindeki kadınlar kooperatif ortağı olmalarıyla birlikte, özgüvenlerini ve ekonomik özgürlüklerini kazanmış, aynı zamanda eğitim seviyelerini de yükseltme imkânı bulmuşlardır. Elde edilen bulgular, kırsal kesimde yeni kurulacak ya da bir türlü başarıyı yakalayamayan kadın kooperatiflerine yol gösterici olacaktır.

Expectations and the Outlook of Cooperators on Women’s Cooperatives in Forest Villages: The Sample of Devrek Güneşi Cooperative

Öz

Cooperatives play a significant role in employing and empowering women, who are often underrepresented in the social and economic life of rural settlements like forest villages. Due to their democratic and participatory nature, cooperatives are also seen as an effective tool for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The importance of women's cooperatives in national development is particularly emphasized in development plans, and efforts are being made to support cooperatives within this framework. The chronic problems of gender inequality faced by cooperatives operating in rural areas led rural women to organize among themselves and establish their cooperatives in the early 2000s. Today, the number of women's cooperatives, which create added value in rural areas and take significant steps toward achieving Sustainable Development Goals such as Gender Equality and Reduced Inequalities, is increasing daily. Despite these developments, very little research has examined the shared structures of women's cooperatives in rural areas. The purpose of this research is to determine the perspectives of the members of the Devrek Güneşi Cooperative (Devrek/Zonguldak), a women's cooperative organization recognized for its success in production and the creation of added value from regional non-wood forest products, thus contributing significantly to rural development. A survey of 42 questions was developed for the members to identify these factors. These surveys were administered to 30 cooperative members through face-to-face interviews. Frequency and percentage distributions of the answers given to the survey questions were determined using the Microsoft Excel program and interpreted through qualitative data analysis. The members of the Devrek Güneşi Cooperative understand the meaning of cooperatives and work and produce accordingly. While there are a few disagreements among the members, they have adopted a culture of working together. This is due to the cooperative's transparent, accountable, and sincere management approach. By becoming cooperative members, women in forest villages have gained self-confidence, economic independence, and the opportunity to improve their education. The findings will guide women's cooperatives that are newly established in rural areas or have not yet achieved success.
