In this article, some historical novels about the beginning of the Ottoman Empirewill be studied. These novels are Kemal Tahir's Devlet Ana, Tarık Buğra's Osmancık,and Mustafa Sepetçioğlu's Konak and Çatı. This study tries to explain the subjects,the events, the characters, and other originalities of these novels from Turkish epic point of view. It shows that these authors mostly adopted some traditional epic elements about events and characters in their novels. It is also obvious that these authors use epic literary style and arcaic vocabulary in their novels successfully
