Gülistan Tercümesi Seyfi Sarayi bugünkü Kıpçak Türkçesi Karaçay- Balkarca Başkurtça Tatarca
The Gulistan Tercumesi (Gulistan bi’t-turki) written by Sayf-i Sarayi at the beginning of
the 14th century is one of the most important literary monuments belonging to Old Kipchak
Language. The lexicological comparison between this text, which represents the central literary
language of the Golden Horde Empire, and modern Kipchak written languages, results in
remarkable outcomes. Delimited by verbs, the lexicon of Gulistan Tercumesi has been compared
with the lexicons of the three members of the Present Kipchak Languages, Karachay-Balkar,
Bashkir and Tatar. In this study, the verbs of the Gulistan Tercumesi and the three present
Kipchak written languages have been compared thru Russian equivalents to follow semantic
details according to specific criterions; the outcomes have been obtained.
