Türkiye’de Web 2.0 Araçlarının Eğitim-Öğretim Ortamlarında Kullanımına Bir Bakış: 2010-2020 Dönemi Tezlerinin İncelenmesi

Öz

Teknolojideki hızlı gelişimler birçok alanı etkilediği gibi eğitimi de etkilemiştir. Bu durum eğitimde teknolojinin verimli bir şekilde kullanılması ihtiyacını ortaya çıkarmaktadır. Eğitimde teknoloji konusu ele alındığında ortaya çıkan bir konu ise Web 2.0 araçlarıdır. Web 2.0 teknolojisiyle birlikte öğrenciler eğitimde pasif konumdan daha aktif konuma gelmekte ve üreten ve paylaşabilen bir hal almaktadır. Bu araştırmada, odağında Web 2.0 teknolojilerinin bulunduğu 2010-2020 yılları arasında YÖK Ulusal Tez Merkezi veri tabanında yer alan yüksek lisans ve doktora tezleri içerik analizi yöntemine göre incelenmiştir. Bu bağlamda ilgili veri tabanında yapılan tarama sonucunda ulaşılan tezlerden 44 tanesi tez türü, tez yılı, gerçekleştirildiği üniversite, yazım dili, ele alınan konu, örneklem büyüklüğü/seçim yöntemi/düzeyi, araştırma yöntemi, veri toplama araçları ve verilerin analiz yöntemi kategorileri altında analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda çalışılan tezlerde dil olarak genellikle Türkçe’nin kullanıldığı, Web 2.0 konusunda araştırmaların son yıllarda artmasıyla birlikte özellikle 2019 yılında daha çok ele alındığı ve vakıf üniversitelerine oranla daha çok devlet üniversitelerinde incelendiği ortaya çıkmıştır. Araştırmaların büyük bir çoğunluğunda amaca uygun örneklem tekniğiyle seçilen katılımcıların genelde lisans düzeyindeki öğrencilerden oluştuğu ve örneklem büyüklüğünün daha çok 31-100 kişiden oluştuğu ortaya çıkan bir diğer bulgudur. Nicel ve literatür derlemesi yöntemlerinin nitel ve karma yöntemlere oranla daha fazla kullanıldığı görülmektedir. Tezlerde anket, görüşme ve tutum/öz-yeterlik/motivasyon/yetenek testleri sıklıkla kullanılan veri toplama araçları iken toplanan verilerin daha çok nicel yöntemlerle analiz edildiği görülmektedir. Tezlerde verilerin analizinde nitel analizlerle birlikte frekans, yüzde, aritmetik ortalama, standart sapma, t-testi, ANOVA gibi tekniklerden faydalanılmasına rağmen MANOVA ve MANCOVA gibi ileri düzey istatistik tekniklerin kullanılmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

A Literature Review on the Usage of Web 2.0 Tools in Educational Environments in Turkey: Analysis of the Theses between the Years 2010 and 2020

Rapid technological advances affected the field of education, as well as other fields. This fact creates the need of utilizing technology in education effectively. Another fact that emerges when the subject of education in technology is considered is Web 2.0 tools. Along with Web 2.0 technology, students get more active in education instead of remaining passive, and become more productive and more willing to share. In this study, M.Ed. and Ph.D. theses focusing on Web 2.0 technology which are published on Council of Higher Education National Thesis Center database between the years 2010 and 2020 were investigated according to content analysis method. In this sense, 44 of the theses which were reached as a result of the review of the related database were analyzed under the categories of thesis type, thesis year, the university it was carried out, its language, the subject it reviewed, sample size/method/level, research method, data collecting tools and data analysis methods. It was revealed as a result of the investigation of the theses that Turkish language is the most used language in the theses, that the subject drew more attention especially in 2019 as the number of the studies on the subject of Web 2.0 tools increased in the recent years, and that the number of the studies carried out in the state universities is more than the number of the studies carried out in private universities. It is another finding that was revealed as a result of the study that in the majority of the studies, the participants which were selected via convenience sampling method mainly consisted of the students of Bachelor’s Degree and the sample size mainly consisted of 31-100 people. It was observed that the quantitative methods and literature review methods were more utilized in the studies than qualitative and mixed methods. It was seen that the most frequently utilized data collecting tools were survey, interview and attitude/self-efficacy/motivation/skills tests, and the data was analyzed mainly via quantitative methods. It was also found in the study that although the techniques such as frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, ttest and ANOVA were utilized along with qualitative methods in the theses in the process of data analysis, advanced statistical techniques such as MANOVA and MANCOVA were not utilized.
