Job Insecurity, Affective Commitment, and Turnover Intention Among Coaches of Basketball and Football Teams
Öz
The purpose of this research is to investigate the interrelationships between job insecurity, affective commitment, and turnover intention among the coaches working in football and basketball teams. Snowball sampling method is used to reach the participants. 162 coaches of various football and basketball teams competing in Turkey participated in this survey. The results suggested that job insecurity has a positive effect on turnover intention and a negative effect on affective commitment as hypothesized. The partial mediating effect of affective commitment on the relationship between job insecurity and turnover intention is significant. These findings can be used to determine human resources strategies related to the coaches. Moreover, the managers can also use the information provided by this research to determine organizational policies.
