The <em>Caelifera</em> (Orthoptera) fauna of Bolu and Düzce provinces

Abstract

In order to determine the Orthoptera fauna of Bolu and Düzce provinces, the part of collected material since 1997 that belonging to the suborder Caelifera, are evaluated. 5289 Caelifera specimens were collected in 395 field studies between the years 1997 and 2003. 64 Caelifera species and subspecies have been determined from the study area that have 30 recorded species up to date. Of which 6 species are included to the list because of the presence of those species just near to the study area. 28 species and subspecies for the study area and the species Euthystira brachyptera (Ocskay, 1826) with its genus, Euthystira Fieber, 1853 for Turkey, are recorded for the first time herein. In addition, the outbreak of Calliptamus italicus (Linnaeus, 1758) which harmed to the agricultural fields was observed in 1996 and 1997.

Öz

Bolu ve Düzce illerinin Orthoptera Faunasını tespit etmek için, 1997 yılından beri toplanan materyalin Caelifera alttakımına ait olan kısmı değerlendirilmiştir. 1997-2003 yılları arasında yapılan 395 arazi çalışmasında 5289 Caelifera örneği toplanmıştır. Bu güne kadar 30 tür kaydı bulunan bölgede yürütülen çalışmalarda toplam 64 Caelifera türü tespit edilmiştir. Bunlardan 6 tür çalışma bölgesinin çok yakınlarında bulunduğu için listeye dahil edilmiştir. Burada 28 tür ve alttür çalışma bölgesi için, Euthystira brachyptera (Ocskay, 1826) türü ve bunun cinsi olan Euthystira Fieber, 1853 Türkiye için ilk kez kaydedilmektedir. Ayrıca 1996 ve 1997 yıllarında Calliptamus italicus (Linnaeus, 1758) türünün salgın halinde tarım alanlarına zarar verdiği gözlenmiştir
