Investigations on the reactions of some wheat varieties and lines against the physiologic races of common bunt disease of wheat [<em>Tilletia .foetida</em> (wallr.) Liro., <em>T.caries</em> (d.c) tul.] determined in Türkiye.
Abstract
In Mediterranean Region, 104 varieties and lines concerning 75 soft wheats (Triticum aestivum) and 29 durum wheats (T.durum) tested against some regional Tilletia foetida and T.caries races which had been determined having high virulence effecting several Bt resistance genes during 1988-1991. No resistancy was found in 70 varieties tested while various resistance Bt genes were determined in 34 varieties. Sources of these resistance came from 29 soft and 5 durum wheat varieties. It was found that the varieties of wheat Yayla 305, Kıraç 66 were resistant to 8 races and Alter 84 resistant to 7 races and Fulamura 80, KKk/Itdl/Lov 29 resistant to 6 races of T.foetida and T.caries.
