Fecundity effects of some plant extracts in the <em>Leptinotarsa decemlineata</em> Say (Col.: Chrysomelidae)

Abstract

Neem Azal T/S and Neemix preparations of Azadirachta indica A. Juss, and Melia azedarach L. extracts obtained with acetone, ethanole and methanole were investigated on reproductive capacity effect Leptinotarsa decemlineata Say.
A. indica preparations and of plant extracts were tasted to be alternative to chemical insecticide to control L. decemlineata. Bioassays to determine the effect of varying concentrations of extracts were used in two different methods leaf dipping and topical application. In leaf dipping method were used 3-5 days old female adults and in topical application methods were used 1-3 days female adults day. In leaf dipping method, five concentrations of extract and only three concentrations of topical application methods were studied. Experiments were carried out using leaf of Solanum tuberosum.
As a result, it was determined that the females applied laid less eggs than the control the individuals to which high concentrations were applied were completely sterile and that the hatching ratio off the eggs have been decreased. It was observed that extracts of M. azedarach have no effect on reproductive capacity as A. indica preparations, but the females applied laid less eggs than the control.

Bazı bitki ekstraktlarının Leptinotarsa decemlineata Say (Col.: Chrysomelidae)’nın yumurta verimine etkisi

Öz

Azadirachta indica A. Juss ağacından elde edilmiş Neem Azal T/S ve Neemix preparatları ile Melia azedarach L.'ın yapraklarından elde edilen asetonlu, etanollü ve meyvelerinden elde edilen metanollü ekstraktların Leptinotarsa decemlineata Say'nın yumurta verimine etkileri araştırılmıştır. Ekstraktların etkisini belirlemek için yaprak daldırma ve topikal aplikasyon olmak üzere iki farklı yöntem kullanılmıştır. Yaprak daldırma yönteminde 3-5 günlük ve topikal aplikasyon da 1-3 günlük dişi erginler kullanılmıştır. Yaprak daldırma yönteminde 5, topikal aplikasyonda ise 4 farklı konsantrasyon çalışılmıştır. Denemelerde patates yaprakları kullanılmıştır. Çalışmalar sonucunda, A. indica preparatlarının uygulandığı bireylerin kontrolden çok daha az yumurta bıraktığı, yüksek doz uygulanan bazı dişilerin ise tamamen steril olduğu ve hiç yumurta bırakmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca bırakılan yumurtaların açılım oranında azalma olduğu belirlenmiştir. M. azedarach ekstraktlarının yumurta verimi üzerine A. indica preparatları kadar etkili olmadığı, ancak uygulama yapılan bireylerin kontrole göre daha az yumurta bıraktığı ortaya konulmuştur.
