Enlightenment Factor in International Relations

The Enlightenment Age is a whole of thought which emerged in response to the Medieval Era practices. The main factor distinguishing the Enlightenment Age from other streams is that it can still be effective in practice. This study starts with the historical coincidence of the emergence of the Enlightenment Age and the process of manifestation of the nation state. In this context, how the Enlightenment affected the international relations and how effective it was in the clarification of the state's characteristic elements are analyzed. Indeed, in the context of the development of the International Relations discipline, the Enlightenment has some effects which are still felt today. This study analyzes how the Enlightenment Age had an influence on the establishment process of international relations discipline.
