Pasteurella canis pneumonia developed in a bronchiectasis patient

Yıl 2017, Cilt: 1 Sayı: 2, 34 - 37, 30.06.2017

Öz

Pasteurellacea; An opportunistic pathogen that
causes skin and soft tissue infections, especially in elderly, immunosuppressed
people, after contact with cats and dogs. The respiratory system is the site of
infection at the second most frequent occurrence and can usually present
clinical signs of tracheabronitis, pneumonia and lung abscess.

In this study, a case of P. canis pneumonia developed in a 65 year old woman with
bronchiectasis was presented. This is the first case of pneumonia due to P.
canis in our country.
