Öz

This research aims to compare the receiving service statistics in the matches according to the average height of the libero players playing in the top volleyball leagues. Receiving service performance statistics in the matches of the 28 men and 36 women libero players playing in Sultanlar League and Efeler League in the 2017/2018 Turkish Volleyball season, and in the 2019 CEV Men's and Women's Championship were examined in the study. Firstly, the average height of male and female libero players were calculated. Athletes with a height of below average value of 187 cm in males and 170 cm in females were named as "below average group", and athletes with a height above the average values were named as “above average group”. The 22-week regular league and playoff or play out matches of the liberoes playing in the League of Sultans and Efeler, and in the group, quarter-final, semi-final and final matches statistics of the libero players in the CEV European Championship were analyzed, and their total performance parameters were compared. Independent two-sample T-tests were used in comparisons between the genders and between the groups in genders. The relationship between the positive (%) and efficiency (%) values of all liberoes in receiving service and their height was evaluated with the Pearson Correlation Coefficient test. As a result of the statistical analysis, although there is no significant difference when the two groups determined according to their height are compared, the receiving service efficiency in males is 8% higher in the "above average" group. In addition, when all data were compared between genders, a difference in favor of men was found only in the efficiency% parameter (p = 0.01). With these results, it can be said that the effective factor in the receiving service efficiency is not “height” of the libero but can have a positive effect in terms of area coverage. In future studies, it may also be suggested to evaluate the effects of different factors age, concentration, experience, quickness, muscle strength, flexibility, etc. in the receiving service performance.

ÜST DÜZEY VOLEYBOLDA SERVİS KARŞILAMADA KISA BOYLU LİBERO GERÇEKTEN AVANTAJ MIDIR?

Öz

Bu araştırma üst düzey voleybol liglerinde oynayan liberoların ortalama boy uzunluğu değerlerine göre maçlardaki servis karşılama istatistiklerinin karşılaştırılması amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmada 2017/2018 Türkiye Voleybol sezonunda Sultanlar Ligi ve Efeler Ligi ile 2019 CEV Avrupa Erkekler ve Kadınlar Şampiyonası’nda oynayan 28 erkek ile 36 kadın liberonun maç istatistiklerinde servis karşılama performansları incelenmiştir. Öncelikle erkek ve kadın liberoların boy ortalamaları alınmıştır. Erkeklerde 187 cm ve kadınlarda 170 cm olan ortalama değerin altındaki boy uzunluğuna sahip liberolar “ortalamanın altı”, bu ortalamaların üzerinde boy uzunluğuna sahip olan liberolar ise “ortalamanın üstü” olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Sultanlar Ligi ve Efeler Ligi’nde oynayan liberoların 22 haftalık normal lig ile playoff veya playout maçlarının tümü, CEV Avrupa Şampiyonası’nda oynayan liberoların ise grup, çeyrek final, yarı final ve final maçlarındaki istatistikleri incelenmiş ve total değerler karşılaştırılmıştır. Gerek cinsiyetler arası gerekse aynı cinsiyette belirlenen gruplar arasındaki karşılaştırmalarda Bağımsız gruplar T testi kullanılmıştır. Tüm liberoların servis karşılamadaki pozitif (%) ve verimlilik (%) değerleri ile boy uzunlukları arasındaki ilişki düzeyi ise Pearson Korelasyon Katsayısı testi ile değerlendirilmiştir. İstatistiksel analizler sonucunda boy uzunluğuna göre belirlenen iki grup karşılaştırıldığında anlamlı bir fark olmasa da, erkeklerde servis karşılama verimliliği “ortalamanın üstü” grupta %8 daha fazladır. Ayrıca tüm veriler tüm liberolarda cinsiyetler arasında karşılaştırıldığında, sadece verimlilik % parametresinde erkekler lehine bir fark bulunmuştur (p=0,01). Bu sonuçlar, servis karşılama verimliliğinde etkili faktörün “boy uzunluğu” olmadığını fakat sahada kaplanan alan avantajı açısından olumlu etkisi olabileceğini düşündürmektedir. Bundan sonraki çalışmalarda servis karşılama performansında yaş, konsantrasyon, deneyim, çabukluk, kas kuvveti, esneklik vs. farklı faktörlerin etkilerinin de değerlendirilmesi önerilebilir.
