A Sustainable Act for Concrete Debris Disposal by Using the Alkaline Fusion Technique for the Synthesis of SBA-15 to Use in Dye Removal
Öz
The cement industry contributes to 8% of total carbon emissions, primarily due to the high temperatures required for production and the use of natural raw materials. Cement is the second most utilized industrial raw material globally due to its ability to be molded in liquid state and gradually increase in strength. In addition to carbon emissions, the appropriate disposal of concrete debris is also a substantial concern. The quantity of debris remaining after natural disasters such as earthquakes poses a substantial obstacle. Currently, concrete waste is utilized for the purpose of filling diverse construction sites. The alkali fusion method has been employed in scientific study to recover a silicon solution from various industrial waste materials, such as fly ash, bottom ash, slag, and gold mine tailing slurry. The hydrated cement phases display elevated levels of calcium and silicon content. The objective of the study was to apply alkali treatment to the debris to extract silicon from the hydrated cement stages of construction debris using the alkali fusion method, which involves heat treatment. The silicon solution obtained was assessed in the synthesis of SBA-15, a material characterized by its mesoporous structure. Ultimately, the synthesized SBA-15 material was employed for dye removal.
