Toplumsal Cinsiyet ve Sürdürülebilir Kalkınma Alanında Gizli Konuların ve Araştırma Eğilimlerinin Saptanması

Öz

Bu çalışma, sürdürülebilir kalkınma ve toplumsal cinsiyet konularının kesişimindeki akademik literatürü analiz ederek, bu alandaki bilimsel üretimin haritasını ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma kapsamında, 2016–2024 yılları arasında Scopus veri tabanında yayımlanan, ilgili temaları içeren 1.353 makale bibliyometrik analiz yoluyla incelenmiştir. Çalışma, yayın sayılarının ve eğilimlerinin değerlendirilmesiyle sınırlı kalmayıp, aynı zamanda Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) konu modellemesi ile literatürde öne çıkan örtük temaları keşfetmeyi hedeflemiştir. Analiz sonuçları, kadınların güçlendirilmesi, eğitime erişim, ekonomik kalkınma süreçleri ve çevresel sürdürülebilirlik gibi kavramların literatürde baskın temalar olarak öne çıktığını ortaya koymuştur. LDA modellemesi ise bölgesel kalkınma, toplumsal güçlenme, halk sağlığı ve iklim değişikliğine dirençlilik gibi alanların yoğun biçimde çalışıldığını göstermiştir. Bununla birlikte, yayınların önemli bir kısmının yüksek gelirli ve gelişmiş ülkelerde yoğunlaştığı, düşük ve orta gelirli bölgelerin ise literatürde oldukça sınırlı şekilde temsil edildiği tespit edilmiştir. Kurumsal ve uluslararası iş birliği oranlarının düşük olması, bu alandaki bilgi paylaşımı ve ortak politika üretimi süreçlerinde sınırlayıcı bir unsur olarak değerlendirilmektedir. Ayrıca, disiplinlerarası yaklaşımların yeterince benimsenmediği, politika yapıcıların ve uygulayıcıların katkısının ise çoğu çalışmada göz ardı edildiği görülmektedir. Bu bağlamda çalışma, sürdürülebilir kalkınma hedeflerinin toplumsal cinsiyet perspektifiyle birlikte ele alınmasının hem teorik hem de pratik düzeyde daha fazla önemsenmesi gerektiğini vurgulamakta, az temsil edilen bölgelerde, yerel ihtiyaçları gözeten, çok disiplinli ve politika odaklı araştırmalara duyulan ihtiyacı ortaya koymaktadır.

Detection Of Hidden Issues and Research Trends in Gender and Sustainable Development

Öz

This study aims to analyze academic literature at the intersection of sustainable development and gender issues and to map scientific production in this field. Within the scope of the research, 1,353 articles containing relevant themes published in the Scopus database between 2016-2024 were examined through bibliometric analysis. The study was not limited to evaluating the number of publications and their trends but also aimed to discover the latent themes that emerged in the literature with Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) topic modeling. The analysis results revealed that concepts such as women's empowerment, access to education, economic development processes, and environmental sustainability stood out as dominant themes in literature. LDA modeling showed that areas such as regional development, social empowerment, public health, and resilience to climate change were intensively studied. However, it was determined that a significant portion of the publications were concentrated in high-income and developed countries, while low- and middle-income regions were represented quite limitedly in literature. The low rates of institutional and international cooperation are considered a limiting factor in the processes of knowledge sharing and joint policy production in this field. It is seen that interdisciplinary approaches are not sufficiently adopted, and the contribution of policy makers and practitioners is ignored in most studies. In this context, the study emphasizes that considering sustainable development goals with a gender perspective should be given more importance both theoretically and practically and reveals the need for multidisciplinary and policy-oriented research that takes into account local needs in underrepresented regions.
