Kavramların etkili bir biçimde öğrenilmesi, öğrenci zihninde yeni bilgilerin yapılanmasında büyük önem taşımaktadır. Öğrencilerin kimya alanındaki bilgilerini geliştirmelerinde, temel kavramların doğru öğrenilmiş olması etkin bir faktördür. Bu temel kavramlardan bazıları kimyanın önemli konularından biri olan “çözünürlük” konusu içinde yer almaktadır. Sunulan çalışma, çözünürlük konusuna yönelik öğrenci başarı düzeyleri ve kavram yanılgılarını belirlemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu amaçla; 15’i çoktan seçmeli ve 5’i açık uçlu sorudan oluşan bir test hazırlanmıştır. Hazırlanan testin pilot çalışması 30 öğrenci grubu üzerinde yapıldıktan sonra farklı il ve ilçelerde bulunan 32 lisede toplam 300 öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen bulguların analiz sonuçlarına göre öğrencilerin; çözelti, çözünürlüğe etki eden faktörler, donma noktası düşmesi, çözeltilerin yoğunluğu, çözünürlüğe ortak iyon etkisi ve seçimli çöktürme hakkında bazı yanılgılarının olduğu belirlenmiştir.
