COULD A COMPLETE SOLID SOLUTION BETWEEN AIKINITE AND BISMUTHINITE EXIST ?

Öz

During the study of polymetallic sulphide veins in Bulancak (Giresun, Turkey) the presence of aikinite (Cu Pb BiS3) was identified by means of x-ray diffraction, optical studies, and electron probe microanalysis methods. Minerals identified as aikinite have compositions which are not in agreement with the theoritical aikinite compositions. They are suggested to be members of the aikinite bismuthinite solid solution series and are close to the aikinite end member. As a result of these studies it was shown that every solid solution composition is possible between aikinite and bismuthinite.

Öz

 Bulancak'taki (Giresun) sülfit damarlarının incelenmesi sırasında alkinit mineralinin varlığı elektron
mikroprob analizleri, X ışınları yansıma örnekleri ve mikroskop çalışmalarıyle ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Çalışmalar sonucu
örneklerdeki aikinitin teorik formülüne sahip olmadığı, aikinit-bizmutinit katı karışım serisi içinde yer aldığı görülmüştür.
Çalışmalarda, aikinit-bizmutinit arasında her oranda katı karışım olabileceği sonucuna varılmıştır.
