The purpose in this article is to contribute to sports-based improvement/development by providing a conceptual overview, to provide clarity. The idea that sport is a means of development has led to a recent increase in national/international sports programs in this sense, aiming for mass development. Sports programs for development are an important tool for achieving socio-economic developmental goals of the individual and society beyond athletes, as well as a powerful factor that complements existing tools. On the one hand, there are those who know sport very well on a practical level but don't know how to talk about it, and on the other hand, there are those who know sport very poorly on a practical level but can talk about it. In the studies carried out; With a holistic approach to new and innovative thinking, sports are seen as an inseparable part of development and peace, therefore it is gaining more and more importance in local, national and international agendas, but the hegemonic aspects of these activities are also emphasized. The study was conducted with the literature review method in order to provide a descriptive/descriptive conceptual overview. It has been determined that national and international sports organizations and development-oriented sports programs contribute to the socio-economy of individuals, communities and countries at micro and macro levels.
