RFID BASED RAW MATERIAL WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT

Öz

The efficient storage and tracking of steel coils are important issues in steel industry. In traditional warehouse systems, steel coils are randomly placed on the floor and the performance of the storage operations depends on operator’s experience. This results in inefficient use of warehouse and mistakes on inventory records. In this study, we proposed an RFID based real-time warehouse management system that helps the warehouse managers to achieve better inventory control and improve the efficiency of warehouse operations. We also developed a heuristic for efficient placement of steel coils. A case study is conducted in Norm Fasteners Co. , Turkey

Öz

RADYO FREKANS TANIMLAMA SİSTEMİNE DAYALI HAMMADDE DEPO YÖNETİMİ

Demir-çelik sanayinde faaliyet gösteren firmalarda, sarım şeklindeki metal hammaddelerin etkin şekilde depolanması önemli bir konudur. Geleneksel depolama sistemlerinde depolama işlemleri büyük oranda operatörlerin tecrübesine dayalı olarak gerçekleşmektedir. Bu durum, depo bölgesinin etkin şekilde kullanılmamasına ve hammaddelerin sistem içerisindeki miktar ve konum bilgilerinin doğru şekilde izlenememesine neden olmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, depolama ve malzeme izleme faaliyetlerinin etkin şekilde gerçekleştirilmesini sağlayacak, radyo frekans tanımlama yöntemi tabanlı bir hammadde depo yönetim sistemi geliştirilmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında, sarım şeklindeki metal hammaddelerin depo bölgesine etkin yerleşimini sağlayacak özgün bir yerleşim algoritması da tasarlanmıştır. Oluşturulan depo yönetim sistemi, bağlantı elemanları üreten Norm Cıvata A.Ş. firmasında uygulanmıştır.
