Examining Technostress In The Context Of Gender And Sector: A Meta-Analytic Evaluation

Öz

This meta analysis investigates how technostress varies by gender and sector within the frameworks of Social Role Theory and the Job Stress Model. In this study, the effect of gender on technostress was first examined. Subsequently, it was investigated whether working in the education sector moderates this effect. Based on the analysis of 28 studies, the findings indicate that women experience significantly higher levels of technostress compared to men. However, no significant moderating effect of employment in the education sector on the gender-technostress relationship was identified. Publication bias analyses suggest that systematic bias is not a concern in this meta analysis. Based on the findings of the meta analysis, it was concluded that technostress significantly differs by gender; however, working in the education sector does not have a significant effect on this relationship. These results contribute to a comprehensive evaluation of the existing literature on the individual and sectoral determinants of technostress.

Teknostresin Cinsiyet ve Sektör Bağlamında İncelenmesi: Meta Analitik Bir Değerlendirme

Bu meta analiz çalışması, teknostresin cinsiyet ve faaliyet gösterilen sektör bağlamında nasıl farklılaştığını Sosyal Rol Teorisi ve İş Stres Modeli teorileri çerçevesinde incelemektedir. Çalışmada ilk olarak cinsiyetin teknostres üzerindeki etkisi değerlendirilmiştir. Daha sonra eğitim sektöründe çalışmanın söz konusu etkide moderatör rolü olup olmadığı araştırılmıştır. 28 çalışmanın analizine dayanan bulgular, kadınların teknostres düzeylerinin erkeklerden anlamlı şekilde daha yüksek olduğunu göstermektedir. Ancak, eğitim sektöründe çalışıp çalışmamanın cinsiyet-teknostres ilişkisinde moderatör etkisinin olmadığı görülmektedir. Yayın yanlılığı analizleri kapsamında yapılan meta analiz çalışmasında yayın yanlılığının sistematik bir sorun oluşturmadığı anlaşılmaktadır. Çalışmada meta analiz bulguları doğrultusunda, teknostresin cinsiyet açısından anlamlı biçimde farklılaştığı; ancak eğitim sektöründe çalışmanın bu ilişki üzerinde anlamlı bir etkisinin bulunmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu sonuçlar, teknostresin bireysel ve sektörel belirleyicilerine ilişkin literatürdeki bulguların bütüncül bir şekilde değerlendirilmesine katkı sağlamaktadır.
