Pandemi Sonrası Sağlık Prpfesyonellerinde Merhamet Yorgunluğu ve Yaşam Kalitesi Arasındaki İlişki: Kesitsel Bir Çalışma

Öz

Bu çalışmanın amacı, pandemi sonrası sağlık profesyonellerinde merhamet yorgunluğu ve çalışma yaşam kalitesi arasındaki ilişkiyi belirlemektir. Kesitsel tipteki bu çalışma 2022 yılı Mayıs-Ağustos ayları arasında Türkiye’nin batısında yer alan bir devlet hastanesinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmanın evrenini 280, örneklemini ise 158 sağlık çalışanı oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verileri kişisel bilgi formu, merhamet yorgunluğu ölçeği ve çalışanlar için yaşam kalitesi ölçeği ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde student-t test, one way anova testi ve pearson korelasyon kullanılmıştır. Çalışmaya 158 sağlık profesyoneli katılmış olup bunların %64.6’sı hemşire, %10.8’i doktor, %8.9’u paramedik/ATT, %6.3’ü sağlık memuru, %6.3’ü ebe, %1.9'u psikolog ve %1.3'ü diyetisyen oluşturmuştur. Sağlık profesyonellerinin yaş, Covid-19 hastalığı geçirme durumu, meslek ve birimde çalışma yılı değişkenlerine göre merhamet yorgunluğu arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur (p<0.05). Sağlık profesyonellerinin yaş, cinsiyet, çocuk sahibi olma, eğitim durumu, meslek, birimde çalışma yılı ve Covid-19 hastalarına sağlık hizmeti veren bölümde çalışma durum değişkenlerine göre çalışma yaşam kalitesi arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur (p<0.05). Merhamet yorgunluğu ölçeğinin tüm alt boyutları ile çalışma yaşam kalitesi ölçeğinin alt boyutu olan mesleki tatmin ile istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ilişki saptanmıştır (p<0.05). Araştırma bulguları doğrultusunda sağlık profesyonellerinin merhamet yorgunluğunu azaltmak ve çalışma yaşam kalitesini arttırmak için çalışma ortamlarının düzenlenmesi, ruhsal sağlıklarını koruyan destek ve uygulamaların sağlanması önerilmektedir.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN OF COMPASSION FATIGUE AND QUALITY OF LIFE IN HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS AFTER THE PANDEMIC: A CROSS-SECTIONAL STUDY

Öz

The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between compassion fatigue and quality of life in healthcare professionals after the pandemic. This cross-sectional study was carried out in a state hospital located in Western Turkey between May and August 2022. The population of the study is 280, and the sample is 158 healthcare workers. Research data were collected with personal information form, compassion fatigue scale and professional quality of life scale. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics, student-t test, one way anova test and pearson correlation analysis were used. 158 health professionals participated in the study, of which 64.6% were nurses, 10.8% were doctors, 8.9% were paramedics/ATT, 6.3% were health officers, 6.3% were midwives, 1.9% were psychologists and 1.3% were dietitians. There was a statistically significant difference between compassion fatigue and age, Covid-19 disease status, occupation and years of working in the unit (p<0.05). There was a statistically significant difference between work life quality and age, gender, having children, education status, occupation, years of working in the unit and working status in the department providing health services to Covid-19 patients (p<0.05). A statistically significant relationship was found between all sub-dimensions of the compassion fatigue scale and the sub-dimension of professional satisfaction in the work life quality scale (p<0.05). It is concluded that is recommended to organize work environments, provide support and practices that protect their mental health in order to reduce compassion fatigue of healthcare professionals and increase their professional quality of life.
