SOSYAL BİLİŞSEL KARİYER TEORİSİ KAPSAMINDA MESLEK AŞKININ KARİYER YAPMA NİYETİ ÜZERİNDEKİ ETKİSİ VE ÖZ YETERLİLİĞİN ARACILIK ROLÜ

Öz

Bu çalışma, sosyal bilişsel kariyer teorisinin, meslek aşkı, öz yeterlilik ve kariyer yapma niyeti arasındaki ilişkileri nasıl açıkladığını ampirik olarak incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Özellikle, aşçılık ve gastronomi alanında eğitim gören bireylerin meslek aşkının, öz yeterlilik algıları aracılığıyla kariyer yapma niyetleri üzerindeki etkisine odaklanılmıştır. Kolayda örnekleme yöntemi ile belirlenen 358 katılımcıya çevrimiçi olarak uygulanan anket verileri, Hayes (2018) tarafından geliştirilen Process makro model 4 ile analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular, meslek aşkının hem öz yeterlilik algısını hem de doğrudan kariyer yapma niyetini anlamlı ve pozitif yönde etkilediğini ortaya koymuştur. Ayrıca, öz yeterlilik algısının, meslek aşkı ile kariyer yapma niyeti arasındaki ilişkiye aracılık ettiği tespit edilmiştir. Bu bulgular, sosyal bilişsel kariyer teorisinin bu bağlamda geçerliliğini destekler nitelikte olup, aşçılık ve gastronomi eğitimi alanında çalışanlar için önemli teorik ve pratik çıkarımlar sunmaktadır.

The Effect of Calling on Career Intention and the Mediating Role of Self-Efficacy within the Scope of Social Cognitive Career Theory

Öz

This study aims to empirically examine how Social Cognitive Career Theory explains the relationships between calling, self-efficacy, and career intention. It focuses on the effect of calling on individuals studying culinary and gastronomy on their career intentions through their self-efficacy perceptions. The online survey data applied to 358 participants, determined by the convenience sampling method, were analyzed using Process Macro Model 4, developed by Hayes (2018). The findings revealed that professional love significantly and positively affected self-efficacy perception and direct career intention. In addition, it was determined that self-efficacy perception mediated the relationship between calling and career intention. These findings support the validity of Social Cognitive Career Theory in this context and offer important theoretical and practical implications for those working in the field of culinary and gastronomy education.
