THE EFFECTS OF ECONOMİC GROWTH, RENEWABLE ENERGY, UNEMPLOYMENT, AND FİNANCİAL DEVELOPMENT VARİABLES ON THE LOAD CAPACİTY FACTOR: A STRUCTURAL EQUATİON MODEL ANALYSİS FOR TURKEY

This study aims to examine the effects of economic growth, renewable energy, urbanization and financial development variables on the load capacity factor (LCF) in Turkey. In the application section of the study, annual data covering the period from 1990 to 2020 was utilized. The data collected within the scope of the research were analyzed by structural equation modelling, a statistical method that allows the analysis of complex relationships by analyzing both the direct and indirect effects of multiple independent variables. According to the research results, there is a negative relationship between economic growth and LCF. Rapid economic growth, in particular, increases resource consumption and increases environmental pressure. On the other hand, a positive relationship was found between renewable energy use and LCF. This suggests that the use of renewable energy can increase load capacity while contributing to environmental sustainability. The unemployment rate variable is also found to have a significant effect on LCF. When the effect of the financial development variable on LCF is analyzed, it is seen that financial development has a complex effect on environmental sustainability. The study aims to fill the gap in the literature by analyzing the macroeconomic determinants of environmental sustainability and load capacity in Turkey. Therefore, the study aims to determine the effects of economic growth, renewable energy, urbanization and financial development variables on the load capacity factor through a structural equation model.
