Tarsus-Pozantı otoyolu Kaçış rampası Agrega Los Angeles aşınma Alkali-silika reaktivitesi
Escape ramps are structures that help to safely stop vehicles having mechanical problems before it causes damages to both itself and the other vehicles travelling on highways. The first escape ramps in Turkey were built on the Tarsus-Pozantı highway in 2012; two on one side, two on the other totalling four and they prevented 5 accidents in the first 2,5 months. In this study, the geotechnical properties of the aggregates used in the Tarsus-Pozantı highway escape ramps was investigated. In this context, classification, roundness, unit weight, sieve, slake durability, water absorption, Los Angeles abrasion, freeze-thaw, alcali-silica reactivity, organic content and chemical content/XRF analysis were performed. The results show that the aggregates are made up of rounded-subrounded grains with no organic content and classifies as GP (Poorly Graded Gravel), and the bulk unit weight is 2.36g/cm3, slake durability index is %99.46, water absorption is %1.55, Los Angeles abrasion lost %20.40, freeze-thaw lost is %7.4, alcalisilica reactivity is harmless. According to these results, the aggregates used in the studied escape ramps are suitable for the aggregate spesification.
