Antenatal Diagnosis of Vein of Galen Aneurysm with Postnatal Outcomes
Abstract
Galen vein aneurysm is a extremely rare congenital malformation. Prenatal diagnosis is possible with ultrasonography. In our case prenatal diagnosis was made. Although cardiovascular system appears normal during prenatal life, postnatal diagnosis is grim with progressive hyperdynamic cardiomyopathy, pulmonary hypertension and multiple organ failure. Even with prenatal diagnosis and early intervention infant succumbed to heart failure short after birth in our case.
