Effect of repeating serological tests on the diagnosis of brucellosis: a pediatric case
Abstract
Brucellosis is an endemic infectious disease in our country. Many systems are affected in human brucellosis and it generally causes complexity of diagnosis. So, long term and combined antibacterial therapy is important for the successful treatment of early diagnosis brucellosis. In this case report, we reported a 11-years-old girl whose main symptom was weakness, anorexia and whose serological tests were negative in the early period, turning to positive later. We aimed to draw attention to the importance of follow-up and repeating diagnostic tests in highly suspected brucellosis cases in terms of this patient who had recurrence in outpatient follow-up.
