Common Errors In Breeding Management And Incubation Practices Of Geese Raised By Local Geese Farmers

Öz

This review has been written with the aim of identifying common errors encountered in breeder selection and incubation management in geese raised under local farming conditions. Geese farming is a low-cost and high-return form of animal production, particularly prevalent in rural areas. In these regions, geese farming is mostly based on traditional methods. This reliance on traditional practices, coupled with a lack of knowledge, often leads to poor incubation outcomes and negatively affects overall productivity. Notable issues include the insufficient consideration of factors such as genetic structure, age, body condition, and sex ratio during breeder selection. During the incubation period, mistakes are frequently observed in the collection, storage, and turning of eggs, as well as in maintaining appropriate temperature and humidity levels. This review was prepared based on direct field observations. In light of these observations, it is recommended that training activities aimed at raising awareness among farmers be increased in order to reduce the problems encountered in local geese farmers. Furthermore, instead of traditional practices and natural incubation methods, farmers should be encouraged to adopt incubator use, and necessary equipment support should be provided.

Yerli Kaz Yetiştiricilerinin Yetiştirme Yönetimi ve Kuluçka Uygulamalarında Yaygın Hatalar

Öz

Bu derleme, halk elinde sürdürülen kaz yetiştiriciliğinde damızlık seçimi ve kuluçka yönetimi sürecinde karşılaşılan yaygın uygulama hatalarının belirlenmesi amacıyla yazılmıştır. Kaz yetiştiriciliği, özellikle kırsal bölgelerde düşük maliyetli ve yüksek getirili hayvansal üretim koludur. Kırsal alanlarda yapılan kaz yetiştiriciliği çoğunlukla geleneksel yöntemlere dayanmaktadır. Bu durum, bilgi eksiklikleri ve geleneksel yaklaşımlar nedeniyle düşük kuluçka özellikleri ve genel verim özelliklerinin olumsuz etkilenmesine yol açmaktadır. Damızlık seçimi sırasında genetik yapı, yaş, vücut kondisyonu ve cinsiyet oranı gibi unsurların yeterince dikkate alınmaması; kuluçka sürecinde ise yumurtaların toplanması, saklanması, çevrilmesi ve uygun sıcaklık ve nem koşullarının sağlanmasında yapılan hatalar dikkat çekmektedir. Bu derleme, sahada gerçekleştirilen doğrudan gözlemler temel alınarak hazırlanmıştır. Saha gözlemlerine dayanarak, halk elindeki kaz yetiştiriciliğinde karşılaşılan sorunların azaltılabilmesi için üreticilerin bilinçlendirilmesine yönelik eğitim faaliyetlerinin artırılması ve geleneksel uygulamalar ve doğal kuluçka yöntemleri yerine, üreticilerin kuluçka makinelerine yönlendirilmesi ve gerekli ekipman desteğinin sağlanması önerilmektedir.
